Job summary

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in security engineering or related IT security roles.

• Experience with SIEM (Splunk) and Agile/Scrum with Jira.
• Strong communication and remote-team collaboration.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, track, and support remediation of vulnerabilities using Nessus, Defender for Cloud, Invicti, and SonarQube.
• Deliver weekly Splunk auditable events reports and lead security meetings.
• Ensure vulnerability certificates remain valid and track software licenses.
• Validate VM status after patch cycles and coordinate post-patch testing.
• Support POA&M items, update security checklists, and respond to A&A requests.
• Maintain JIRA boards and prepare sprint-review updates.

About The Role

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Vulnerability Management

• Monitor, track, and support remediation activities for vulnerabilities identified through tools such as Nessus, Defender for Cloud, Invicti, and SonarQube.
• Deliver weekly Splunk auditable events reports to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Lead weekly security meetings, providing updates on ongoing vulnerability and remediation efforts.
• Ensure all vulnerability‑related certificates remain valid and current to maintain system integrity.
• Track and verify that all software licenses are up to date, preventing compliance issues.

Patch & System Assurance

• Validate the operational status of Virtual Machines (VMs) after scheduled patching cycles.
• Communicate status updates to application teams and key stakeholders, coordinating testing to confirm systems function as expected post‑patching.

Auditing & Compliance

• Support the tracking and closure of Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) items.
• Maintain and update Security Engineering checklists to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory standards.
• Fulfill Assessment & Authorization (A&A) data requests as needed for audits and reviews.
• Respond to FNA Security inquiries regarding vulnerabilities during Change Request review cycles.

Baseline & Configuration Management

• Generate and deliver monthly baseline reports covering software inventories, end‑of‑life assessments, ports and protocols validation, Azure infrastructure baselines, and VM configuration reviews.

Agile/Scrum Participation

• Maintain the accuracy of JIRA boards by aligning stories and sub‑tasks with active sprint work.
• Prepare materials and updates for sprint reviews on the first day of each sprint, ensuring team alignment and transparency.
