Job summary

CGL Facility Management, LLC is seeking a Security Electronics Technician to manage electronic systems across client facilities, including locking systems, fire alarms, intercoms, CCTV, and nurse-call. The role involves preventive maintenance, CMMS management, and collaboration with client staff.

You will read blueprints, perform inspections, and ensure compliance with contract standards and OSHA regulations while maintaining a safe workplace. A driver’s license is required for site travel.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • 4-6 years dealing with security electronics experience in commercial environments preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Complete all documentation required in a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Must be a team player with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a desire to succeed.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to meet client needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; certifications may be required.
  • Requires self-motivation, multitasking, and good interpersonal skills, especially with clients.
  • Driver's License valid and in-state.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures preventive maintenance schedules are executed per specifications or client requirements.
  • Perform administrative tasks: work orders, documentation, and CMMS familiarity.
  • Assist in CMMS maintenance schedules, warranty status, and inventory for parts.
  • Maintain professional relationships with client staff and serve as technical advisor as needed.
  • Use electronic test equipment effectively and inspect building security and electronic systems.
  • Read blueprints and schematics; handle preventive and corrective electronics maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure all work complies with contract standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe workplace and complete required safety training.
  • May mentor technicians and provide task direction as needed.
  • Travel for company business using company or personal vehicle as required.

CGL Facility Management, LLC provides comprehensive contract facility maintenance services to commercial clients.

A Brief Overview

CGL Facility Management, LLC provides comprehensive contract facility maintenance services to commercial clients. The Security Electronics Technician is responsible for all electronic systems and computerized controls for the facility, which include locking systems, fire alarm systems, intercom/public address system, closed circuit TV, nurse-call, and other security related systems. What You Will Do
  • Ensures that all preventive maintenance schedules are executed on a timely basis per manufacturers’ specifications or client requirements.
  • Perform required administrative tasks pertaining to the position, such as work order documentation and general record keeping. Must become familiar with the design and layout of the facility. Learn locations of installed base of electronic equipment and systems. Obtain understanding of correctional operations and security procedures as they relate to electronic systems in the facility.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of a computerized maintenance management database (CMMS), preventive maintenance schedules, warranty status, and inventory for spare parts, materials, and supplies.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with client staff, answer questions, provide solutions and make recommendations. May be asked to serve as a technical advisor during client meetings and presentations.
  • Exhibit the ability to perform work and display the effective use of electronic test equipment.
  • Make competent inspections of the building security and electronic systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to smoke detectors and related control systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Responsible for preventive and corrective electronics maintenance work orders.
  • All work performed must conform to standards per the contractual agreements with the client, as well as standards for quality and accuracy and all OSHA codes and regulations.
  • Must maintain a clean and safe workplace while and after performing maintenance tasks.
  • Complete all required compliance, safety and developmental training as assigned.
  • May be required to provide training technicians in unlike skillset some basics of your trade provide mentorship, oversight and direction.
  • Complete all documentation required in compliance with CGL's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • May be assigned duties outside usual Security Electronic tasks.
  • This position requires driving for the Company using either 1) a Company vehicle, at any frequency from Rarely to Constantly; or, 2) a Personal or Rental vehicle to conduct Company business more than 50% of the time to perform work duties.
