Job summary

CGL Facility Management, LLC seeks a Security Electronics Technician to manage all electronic systems and controls for the Sussex State Prison in Waverly, VA. You will ensure PMs are executed, maintain CMMS records, and support client operations with secure, reliable facilities management.

You’ll read blueprints, test equipment, and participate in training and mentoring of staff while upholding OSHA and contract standards. A strong customer service mindset and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4–6 years dealing with security electronics in commercial environments preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Complete all documentation per computerized maintenance management system.
• Must be a team player with a strong work ethic and customer service orientation.
• Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is a plus.
• Certifications may be required.
• Self-motivated, multitasker with good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with clients and provide mentorship as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensures preventive maintenance schedules are executed per specifications or client requirements.
• Perform administrative tasks such as work orders and record keeping; learn facility layout and equipment locations.
• Assist in developing and maintaining CMMS data, PM schedules, warranty status, and inventory for parts.
• Maintain professional relationships with client staff; serve as technical advisor during meetings.
• Utilize electronic test equipment effectively and inspect building security and electronic systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on smoke detectors and related control systems.
• Read blueprints and schematics; manage preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.
• Ensure work complies with client contracts, quality standards, and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace; complete required safety and development training.
• May train technicians and provide mentorship; may perform duties outside usual Security Electronics tasks.
• Complete documentation in CMMS as required.

CGL Facility Management, LLC provides comprehensive contract facility maintenance services to commercial clients.

A Brief Overview

CGL Facility Management, LLC provides comprehensive contract facility maintenance services to commercial clients. The Security Electronics Technician is responsible for all electronic systems and computerized controls for the facility, which include locking systems, fire alarm systems, intercom/public address system, closed circuit TV, nurse-call, and other security related systems. Employees in this position will be assigned to the Sussex State Prison in Waverly, VA.

What you will do

• Ensures that all preventive maintenance schedules are executed on a timely basis per manufacturers’ specifications or client requirements.
• Perform required administrative tasks pertaining to the position, such as work order documentation and general record keeping. Must become familiar with the design and layout of the facility. Learn locations of installed base of electronic equipment and systems. Obtain understanding of correctional operations and security procedures as they relate to electronic systems in the facility.
• Assists in the development and maintenance of a computerized maintenance management database (CMMS), preventive maintenance schedules, warranty status, and inventory for spare parts, materials, and supplies.
• Maintain a professional relationship with client staff, answer questions, provide solutions and make recommendations. May be asked to serve as a technical advisor during client meetings and presentations.
• Exhibit the ability to perform work and display the effective use of electronic test equipment.
• Make competent inspections of the building security and electronic systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance to smoke detectors and related control systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Responsible for preventive and corrective electronics maintenance work orders.
• All work performed must conform to standards per the contractual agreements with the client, as well as standards for quality and accuracy and all OSHA codes and regulations.
• Must maintain a clean and safe workplace while and after performing maintenance tasks.
• Complete all required compliance, safety and developmental training as assigned.
• May be required to provide training technicians in unlike skillset some basics of your trade provide mentorship, oversight and direction.
• Complete all documentation required in compliance with CGL's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• May be assigned duties outside usual Security Electronic tasks.

Compensation

We are committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation. The hiring range for this position is generally between $27.98 to $35.81, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. Final salaries will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, licenses, certifications, and/or experience. In addition to these factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the general Hiring Range for the role.
