Job summary

Horseshoe Casino Hammond is hiring a Security Officer to monitor staff and guests, ensure compliance with policies, and help safeguard people and assets on the gaming floor and surrounding areas.

The role covers access control, escort duties, incident investigations, post scheduling, and collaboration with Surveillance and Marine teams. A valid Indiana gaming license and HS diploma are required, with flexibility for shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in English (verbal and written).
• Equivalent to a high school diploma, with knowledge of security procedures.
• Flexibile to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Staff various posts as assigned.
• Perform the functions of a Security Officer, including jackpots, escorts, table fills, and boarding.
• Monitor and control guest access to vessels or non-public areas and maintain a guest count log.
• Maintain presence and take action to ensure safety and security of guests, staff and assets.
• Remove and detain unruly individuals or those engaged in criminal activity.
• Coordinate with Surveillance on monitoring critical areas.
• Conduct investigations of incidents as required.
• Schedule daily post assignments and department staff coverage.
• Work with marine department on emergency and training drills onboard the vessel.
• Monitor the EVOLVE weapon detection system at entrances as needed.

• Maintain presence and take action to ensure the safety and security of guests, staff and organizational assets.
• Remove and detain in a security area unruly and disruptive individuals or persons engaged in criminal activity.
• Coordinate with Surveillance on monitoring critical areas.
• Conduct investigations of incidents as required.
• Scheduling of daily post assignments
• Accompany all movement of money to and from the gaming tables, cage or vault.
• Schedule departmental staff for coverage.
• Work with the marine department to conduct emergency and training drills onboard the vessel.
• Schedule departmental staff for coverage.
• Properly Monitor/Staff the EVOLVE weapon detection system at guest and employee entrances in a Dual Rate and Ambassador role as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Proficient in English verbal and written
• Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Equivalent to a high school diploma, with knowledge of security procedures
• 1-2 years of specialized training in security is preferred.
• Must qualify for, obtain, and maintain a gaming license from the Indiana Gaming Commission
• Access to the vessel required.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work while stand/walk for 100% of your shift.
• Must be able to kneel, bend, reach, and twist when needed.
• Ability to work in hot/cold environments
• Ability to work in a smoking environment
• Must be able to work in loud environments.
