Kamehameha Schools, Kapalama Campus is hiring for Security Dispatchers to join the Kapalama Security Team. This is a Temporary position, with potential for up to 40 hours a week based on needs. Receives calls for emergency and non‑emergency security services for students, faculty, staff, and visitors, and dispatches necessary units. Performs a variety of general support duties related to the operation of the security communications center. Responsible for maintaining effective and efficient communications with the security department patrol officers and outside emergency responders, law enforcement officers, and the general public. Monitors the organization’s security cameras and fire alarm panels on property, reports discrepancies and dispatches appropriate units. Logs and maintains all service calls, patrol officer assignments, and dispositions via a computerized security management system. Responsible for making telephone notifications and performing computer data queries for patrol officers and authorized Operations Support staff.
Physical and Mental Requirements: Frequently sits, performs desk‑based computer tasks, writes by hand, stands, walks and lifts/and/carry, push and/or pull objects that weigh up to 25 pounds. Occasionally twists, bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crawls, climbs, reaches or works above shoulder, or grasps firmly. Frequently views multiple video display terminals for extended periods of time and uses near and far vision to read documents and computer screens.
Working Conditions: Work is generally performed in an office environment, but at times may be outdoors. Work assignments may be conducted 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
