Job description

RunReveal is the best data platform for security teams to collect, manage, and actually use their security logs. We're supporting the security teams of the future at Cursor, Harvey, ClickHouse, and Sentry to name a few. Our mission is to make using security logs easy, actionable, and affordable by building a next-gen security data platform that centers technologies of the future with actual practitioner feedback.

Why join the RunReveal team?

  • We're growing—fast—across both revenue and headcount
  • Customers genuinely enjoy using our product (and enjoy working with us!)
  • We're a team of seasoned security practitioners (ex-Cloudflare and Segment), talented engineers, experimental marketers, and friendly sales people
  • Well-funded by investors from Costanoa Ventures, Okta Ventures, Runtime Ventures, and the Modern Technical Fund
  • We believe in working with agency, passion, and transparency
About the role

Over the past 18 months, we've:

  • Dialed in our ideal customer profile,
  • Shipped a security platform that engineers genuinely love,
  • Landed some incredible customers,
  • Kicked off in-person AI for Security meetups,
  • attended too many trade shows to count,

…and now we need a Senior Developer Advocate to become the trusted voice connecting RunReveal to the security engineering community.

We're looking for an experienced security practitioner who can bridge deep technical expertise with compelling storytelling. You'll own our community presence—creating content security engineers care about, speaking at conferences and organizing meetups, and building genuine relationships across the community. If you've lived through the pain of legacy SIEM tools and have strong opinions about where security engineering is headed, we want to hear from you.

What you'll do at RunReveal
Content Creation (The Fun Part)
  • Write technical blog posts that other security engineers actually want to read
  • Create demo videos and tutorials that showcase real security workflows
  • Produce short and long-form video content for YouTube, social media, etc.
  • Draw from your own security practitioner experience to create content that resonates
Community Building (The Important Part)
  • Organize and speak at meetups, webinars, and conferences
  • Become a known voice in the security engineering community
  • Host livestreams, appear on podcasts, engage on X/Twitter
  • Help define our community strategy as we scale
Product & GTM Influence (The Strategic Part)
  • Work with product marketing and go-to-market teams on messaging
  • Feed customer insights back into the product roadmap
  • Help accelerate pipeline through authentic community engagement
About you
  • 4-8 years in security, DevRel/Developer Advocacy/Evangelism, or solutions engineering with domain knowledge in: SIEM, AI SOC, threat detection, and pipelines and routing.
  • Execution-focused: Hands-on, resourceful, and capable of owning deliverables end-to-end with minimal guidance.
  • Excellent communication skills and storytelling abilities: You’re comfortable writing, presenting, and translating technical content into a great (visual or written) story.
  • Hands-on experience as a security practitioner with an existing community presence. We’re looking for someone who’s dealt with the problems of historic SIEM, understands how AI is changing how security teams work—and already shares those thoughts somewhere online (e.g., active on X, maintains a personal blog or YouTube channel).
  • Interest or experience in managing and growing communities across in-person meetings/meetups, Discord, Substack, etc. This role will be responsible for helping host meetups, find speakers for events, and should feel comfortable being “the face” for RunReveal in the security community.
  • Thrive in startup mode: We're a lean but fast-moving and experimental team. Ideally, you get energized by the challenges of a fast moving ship.
