Job summary

HDR's Building Engineering Services Group is seeking a Security Designer II to design integrated electronic security systems and oversee construction documents for complex facilities. Based in the Mid-Atlantic region, you will partner with project teams to translate security requirements into reliable, code-compliant designs.

With a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and at least five years of security design experience, you will leverage Autodesk tools and collaborate with Project Managers to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in security design.
• Familiarity with Autodesk software is expected.
• RCDD is helpful; CPP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design integrated electronic security systems.
• Calculate electrical power loads, UPS requirements and single line diagrams.
• Take responsibility for complete set of construction documents.
• Understand that assignments have objectives requiring investigation of variables.
• Independently perform security/electrical engineering tasks with guidance from Project Manager.
• Write specifications covering all security system matters and review with owners as part of the project team.
• Assist other Designers, Project Coordinators or Technicians and perform work in all phases of security design process.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of others.
• Perform other duties as needed.
