Job summary

SpyCloud is seeking a Security Data Analyst / Python Developer to transform complex datasets, automate parsing, and monitor data ingestion. The role blends cybersecurity context with data engineering using Python and AWS stack.

Hybrid work allows 2 days in Austin with occasional US-wide remote options and quarterly HQ visits. Applicants should have 5-7 years of Python experience, data cleaning/automation skills, and a strong CS foundation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Parse, clean, and transform datasets to SpyCloud schema.

• Analyze data related to marketing blog consumption.

Security Data Analyst / Python Developer

Hybrid Work: The ideal candidate will work hybrid (2 days per week) in our Austin, Texas headquarters. We are also open to candidates who are remote in the United States, but can travel to our headquarters 1‑2 times per quarter.

What You'll Do

• Parse, clean, and transform structured and unstructured datasets to the spycloud schema.
• Build Python-based automation for the parsing platform.
• Bring order to dirty and/or unstructured data.
• Monitor the ingestion process for issues.
• Collaborate with the team to design and build innovative data systems.
• Analyze data based on the consumption of blogs for the marketing team.
• Develop processes, standards and CI/CD pipelines to manage our codebase.
• Leverage AI to help automate parsing of dirty datasets.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of professional experience as a Python developer.
• Experience cleaning/transforming data.
• Experience building data solutions and automation tools using Python.
• Proficient in Linux bash/ksh scripting and regular expressions.
• Interest in cybersecurity.
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, data processing).
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Great team player.
• Self-directed, empathetic, and eager to automate repetitive tasks.
• Able to switch contexts as business needs change.

Nice to Have

• Background or strong interest in cybersecurity.
• Familiarity with Git version control system.
• Experience with AWS (Compute, Storage, Database).
• Experience working with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and Ansible).

Base Salary Range

$111,000 - 144,000
