Job summary

Cornerstone Defense LLC is seeking a Security Cooperation Analyst to support the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Cyber Operations Policy (DASW COP). The role advances cyberspace security cooperation programs and provides policy, analytical, and technical expertise between the Pentagon and DoW staff.

Candidates will conduct deliberate analysis, help develop defensive cyber operations policy, and coordinate with diplomatic, law enforcement, intelligence, and network defense

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a relevant field.
• Minimum 8 years of combined experience supporting cyberspace security cooperation development and implementation.
• Knowledge of cyberspace security cooperation processes and activities.
• Ability to interface effectively with senior-level management.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal, written, coordination, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Position Description

The Security Cooperation Analyst supports the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Cyber Operations Policy (DASW COP) by providing policy, analytical, and technical expertise that advances cyberspace security cooperation programs across the Department. Operating between the Pentagon and Mark Center, this role contributes to defensive cyber operations, critical infrastructure protection, cyber resilience, and whole-of-government efforts to counter malicious cyber threats. Candidates may be considered at the Journeyman or Senior level depending on experience.

Core Tasks

• Conduct deliberate analysis supporting DoD cyber workforce, cyber operations forces, and readiness policy development.
• Assist DASW COP leadership in developing and updating DoW policy for defensive cyber operations, including the defense of critical infrastructure, the defense industrial base, and critical warfighting capabilities.
• Support DASW COP leadership in drafting policy to deter, prevent, and respond to DoW and national-level cybersecurity intrusions and incidents, enhancing resiliency and agility.
• Assist implementation of lines of effort under DoW’s Cyber Strategy.
• Support DoW participation in whole-of-government efforts to counter malicious cyber threats, coordinating with diplomatic, law enforcement, intelligence, and network defense communities.
• Provide policy oversight and alignment assessments for cyberspace security cooperation programs to ensure consistency with DoW policy and strategy.
• Use knowledge of security cooperation processes to assess feasibility of proposed cyber security cooperation programs.
• Support development, coordination, and implementation of cyberspace security cooperation policies, strategies, programs, and initiatives.
• Analyze proposed cyber security cooperation activities for feasibility, alignment, risks, resource needs, and implementation considerations.
• Coordinate with DoW and Service staffs, military commands, interagency organizations, diplomatic partners, international stakeholders, law enforcement, intelligence, and network defense communities.
• Provide technical support, policy analysis, and senior-level guidance on cyber security cooperation, defensive cyber operations, cyber resilience, and related initiatives.
• Prepare policy papers, coordination documents, assessments, briefings, reports, and decision-support materials.
• Support policy reviews, stakeholder engagements, working groups, and senior-level coordination sessions.
• Track program activities, milestones, risks, issues, action items, and coordination requirements.
• Brief complex cyber policy, operational matters, and security cooperation topics to senior-level leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a relevant field.
• Minimum 8 years of combined experience within the Office of the Secretary of War and/or Service staff supporting cyberspace security cooperation development and implementation.
• Knowledge of cyberspace security cooperation processes and activities.
• Ability to assess feasibility of proposed cyber security cooperation programs.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical support and advice.
• Ability to interface effectively with senior-level management.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal, written, coordination, and presentation skills.

Preferred

• Master’s degree from an accredited university.
• Experience supporting DoW, Service, combatant command, interagency, or international cyber security cooperation programs.
• Familiarity with DoW Cyber Strategy, defensive cyberspace operations, critical infrastructure protection, defense industrial base resilience, cyber resiliency, and cyber incident response.
• Experience developing policy, coordinating across organizational boundaries, and preparing executive-level briefings and decision-support materials.
