Location& Schedule

This position follows a variable schedule based on operational needs.This role follows a Monday–Friday schedule and requires being in the office five days a week. T hedepartmentoperates24 hours a day, candidates must be available to work any shift as needed, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.This position will work out of ourvarious Denver HumanServiceslocations.

The Facilities, Safety & Security Division (FSS) of Denver Human Services isseekinga highly qualified individual to serve as the Security Compliance & Training Administrator.

The Security Compliance & Training Administrator:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day operational coordination and guidance to contracted security personnel under the direction of the Security Operations Administrator II, ensuring consistent communication regardingongoing and emerging security issues.
  • Review and audit contracted security vendor invoices, shift logs, billing statements, and related expenditures for accuracy, contractual compliance, and alignment with approved staffing allocations.
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver security, de-escalation, situational awareness, and compliance training for DHS staff and contracted security personnel, promoting proactive security practices, policy compliance, and alignment with agency safetyobjectives.
  • Monitor daily facility security operations to verify vendor compliance with contract requirements, establishedpost orders, DHS policies, and operational expectations, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions asappropriate.
  • Conduct preliminary security incident investigations by documenting findings, preparing after-action reports, coordinating follow-up actions, and elevating significant incidents and recommendations to the Security Operations Administrator II for review and further action.
  • Analyze security incident data, operational trends, vendor performance metrics, and compliance findings toidentifyemerging risks, evaluate operational effectiveness, and prepare reports and recommendations that support the continuous improvement of the DHS security program.
  • Coordinate routine facility security assessments andassistin the development, implementation, and periodic review of security policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), post orders, emergency response protocols, and operational guidance documents to promote consistent operations, regulatory compliance, and continuous program improvement.
  • Build and sustain collaborative working relationships with DHS staff, contracted security leadership, law enforcement agencies, City departments, and other stakeholders to support coordinated security operations, effective communication, and the successful implementation of security initiatives.
  • By delegation of the Security Operations Administrator II, performs lead and supervisory functions as assigned, including work planning and coordination, employee instruction and training, work review, performance management, addressing employee concerns and grievances, and supporting disciplinary and personnel actions. May assume designated supervisory responsibilities during the Security Operations Administrator II’s absence to ensure continuity of security operations.
  • Serveandparticipatein the DHS Duty Officer rotation, providing after-hours and on-call support for incidents, emergencies, and operational issues requiring departmental coordination or escalation.
  • Employees may be re-deployed to work in other capacities in their own agencies or in other City agencies to support core functions of the City during a City-wide emergency declared by the Mayor.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Education:Bachelor’s Degree in a related field based on a specific position(s)
  • Experience Requirement Three (3) years’ experience performing full performance professional level duties within a specialized, functional area. (This does not include clerical experience)
  • Education & Experience Equivalency One (1) year of theappropriate typeand level of experience may be substituted for each required year ofposthighschool education. Additionalappropriate educationmay be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
