Job summary

CA CI International Inc. is seeking an organized Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to support the NSWC Carderock Division in Bethesda, MD. The role includes conducting safety inspections across offices and labs, closing safety deficiencies, and tracking required training for 700–750 people.

The ideal candidate has a EHS degree, 2–5 years of safety experience, OSHA familiarity, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. Hybrid work options and up to 10% travel are available.

Qualifications

• A.S. or B.S. in Environmental Health and Safety Management or similar field.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• A safety background with 2-5 years of experience.
• OSHA familiarity and knowledge of Safety Management Systems.
• Familiarity with IT systems and process orientation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety inspections for department spaces, labs, and HAZMAT lockers.
• Rectify and close out safety deficiencies with department personnel.
• Track safety training requirements for 700–750 personnel (ESAMS, OJT, Web).
• Develop internal/external safety procedures and checklists.
• Collaborate with leadership to suggest improvements and share safety info.
• Develop and manage PPE Authorized Use List and Spill Response Plan.
• Support VPP activities and OSHA certification efforts.
• Travel to Memphis, TN facility as needed (~10%).
