Job summary

Swift seeks an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Technician Level 2 in College Park, MD to support OSHA CFR and DoD-aligned safety programs in a laboratory and workplace environment.

Responsibilities include developing SOPs, conducting inspections, maintaining SDS, and coordinating with OHESS. A Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience, plus HazMat certification and TS/SCI clearance, are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Natural Resources, Public Health, or Environmental Health.
• 7 years of relevant experience in environmental protection, safety and health services; a Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years.
• Hazardous Material Manager Certification is required.
• US citizenship with an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain environmental SOPs in accordance with guidelines.
• Identify, assess, and address environmental safety and health concerns across the workplace.
• Maintain and monitor hazardous chemical inventories and ensure proper tracking of all materials in labs.
• Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and compliance assessments.
• Coordinate remediation plans with project leaders for identified risks.
• Ensure availability of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for substances used in work.
• Serve as liaison with OHESS and other regulatory bodies.
• Assist staff in SOPs with safe work practices.
• Investigate accidents with proper documentation and reporting.
