Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Java-focused software engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain a suite of government-facing applications. You will join an Agile team, participate in ceremonies, and work closely with stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required
• Ability to obtain the required government security clearance (CBP Public Trust Final)
• Bachelor’s degree plus at least 3 years of work experience, including support of Java applications and associated frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot
• Experience working in an Agile team development environment using Jira or a similar tool
• Experience developing against relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL
• Experience writing automated unit tests using a tool like JUnit
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with team members to meet or exceed client needs and expectations
• Preferred: experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, Bamboo, Jenkins, and SonarQube
• Preferred: experience developing and deploying to cloud environments such as AWS
• Preferred: experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Preferred: JavaScript or Angular experience
• Preferred: Hibernate or MyBatis experience
• Preferred: JMS experience, such as IBM MQ or ActiveMQ
• Preferred: Python experience
• Preferred: Kafka experience
• Preferred: Linux experience

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain a suite of Java applications
