Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Java-focused software engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain a suite of government-facing applications. You will join an Agile team, participate in ceremonies, and work closely with stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions.

Qualifications

U.S. citizenship required
Ability to obtain the required government security clearance (CBP Public Trust Final)
Bachelor’s degree plus at least 3 years of work experience, including support of Java applications and associated frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot
Experience working in an Agile team development environment using Jira or a similar tool
Experience developing against relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL
Experience writing automated unit tests using a tool like JUnit
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate with team members to meet or exceed client needs and expectations
Preferred: experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, Bamboo, Jenkins, and SonarQube
Preferred: experience developing and deploying to cloud environments such as AWS
Preferred: experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Preferred: JavaScript or Angular experience
Preferred: Hibernate or MyBatis experience
Preferred: JMS experience, such as IBM MQ or ActiveMQ
Preferred: Python experience
Preferred: Kafka experience
Preferred: Linux experience
