Job summary

Ultra Intelligence & Communications is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimize embedded software for critical defense platforms. You will work on C and Rust baselines, architect embedded solutions, and ensure quality through testing and documentation.

Occasional travel (~5%) for customer meetings and off-site testing is possible. The role requires a US Government Secret Security Clearance (citizenship required) and a BS in a related field, with 2+ years of embedded

Qualifications

• BS/CS or equivalent in software engineering or computer engineering.
• 2+ years in embedded software, including C-to-Rust conversions.
• Experience with low-level embedded design and firmware integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded software in C and Rust.
• Perform embedded architecture trade studies and design.
• Create and maintain documentation (SHRS/IRS, ICDs, SHDD).
• Develop unit, integration, and acceptance tests.
• Manage configuration control for software items.
• Collaborate in Agile and Waterfall environments.
• Provide progress updates to stakeholders and improve processes.
