Job summary

Pelagic AI is seeking a mid-level to senior DevOps Engineer and Software Developer to maintain applications on high-security networks. The role blends DevOps with software development, emphasizing Python scripting and NiFi, across hybrid local and cloud infrastructures.

You will design and maintain multiple DevOps pipelines, collaborate with senior engineers, and contribute to innovative AI-driven solutions for the defense sector. Strong security and automation focus is essential.

Qualifications

• Current/active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
• Willingness to work in a SCIF in Herndon, Virginia.
• Minimum 5+ years of industry DevOps experience.
• Strong cloud experience with deployment, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Proven track record building/operating cloud-native apps with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with IaC tools: Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent.
• Solid CI/CD experience with GitLab/Jenkins/Azure DevOps.
• Scripting/automation in Python, Bash, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and manage highly available applications for reliability and scalability.
• Implement and maintain Nomad/Kubernetes clusters for workload orchestration.
• Configure DNS and performance tuning for enterprise systems.
• Develop IaC solutions using Terraform, Ansible, etc.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments.
• Monitor, log, and troubleshoot systems to preempt issues.
• Incorporate security testing/monitoring in DevOps workflows (ACAS, Trivy).
• Assist cybersecurity team with evidence for false positives and software approvals.
• Integrate static code analysis into CI/CD (GitLab SAST, Fortify, SonarQube).
• Develop tools to automate cybersecurity analysis and remediation.
