Job summary

SimVentions in Virginia Beach seeks a Database Architect with active Secret clearance to join our on-site team. You will support data-driven decision making for Navy Reserve missions, overseeing enterprise data pipelines, governance, and interoperability.

The role demands hands-on work with Python, SQL, and data tooling in a secure environment. The position offers compensation between $60,000 and $80,000 per year, plus a broad benefits package and ESOP.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience with Python, PySpark, GitLab, Databricks and/or Jupyter Notebook, Secure File Gateway (SFG), and Magic.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with software coding in JavaScript and SQL.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with Navy Reserve data systems and Advana/Jupyter.
• At least 6 months of experience in managing or modifying Alchemy pipeline code.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, compile, and implement industry standards and methodologies for expanding and maintaining an authoritative data ecosystem for the Navy Reserves.
• Data management of enterprise data pipelines, architectures, observability, and governance.
• Automate data feeds from multiple systems into a consolidated data environment.
• Perform capability gap analysis and identify vulnerabilities and recommend solutions.
• Compile and implement integration strategies to expand and optimize an interoperable data ecosystem across existing legacy systems.
