Job summary

System One is seeking a Software Developer in San Diego, CA for a contract-to-hire engagement. You will apply secure software development practices, participate in Agile processes, and help deliver robust, tested web-based solutions.

You should have a BS in CS, active secret clearance, experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern UI frameworks, plus TDD and automated testing. This role offers on-site work in San Diego and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Active Secret Clearance.
• DoD 8570 approved Security+ certification within 90 days of hire.
• Experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies (e.g., SAFe, XP).
• Proficiency with UI frameworks such as AngularJS, React, or Node.js.
• Experience with Automated Testing Tools/Technologies (Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin, BDD).
• Demonstrated experience with Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
• Preferred: REST/SOAP/AWS, Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, HP Fortify, mobile app development, JIRA, VersionOne, JBOSS/Wildfly/Tomcat, Postgres/SQL Server/MySQL.

Responsibilities

• Apply secure software development principles and techniques to projects, ensuring high standards of security and quality.
• Utilize software tools in conjunction with CI and test automation processes.
• Understand and work with various software components and their interface requirements.
• Collaborate with software engineers, system engineers, information assurance engineers, test engineers, QA, and other team members to deliver robust solutions.
• Set standards and support team adherence to Test Driven Development (TDD) within the Agile Framework.
• Communicate effectively with development teams, subcontractors, and customer representatives to ensure expectations are met.
• Participate in agile methodologies such as Scrum or SAFe, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Assist in maintaining software documentation, specifications, and test plans to support project goals.
