Job summary

Westhab in Bronx, NY is seeking a part-time Security Attendance Officer to manage the Single Point of Access at our safety-focused youth program. You will log entries and exits for youth participants, parents/guardians, staff, and vendors, ensuring a secure start to every day.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least two years in afterschool programs; you should be energetic, dynamic, and passionate about youth, with the ability to deescalate conflicts and request emergency

Responsibilities

• Sits at the Single Point of Access monitoring all people that enter and exit the site.
• Has all program participants, parents/guardians, staff, and vendors/partners sign into the site upon entry and out of the site upon exit.
• Adds to the positive culture of the program through welcoming all people who are entering the site and displaying a positive attitude and warm demeanor.
• Ensures that all parents/guardians picking up children are indicated in the child’s file as responsible adults for the child.
• Prevents the entry to program site of any undesirable individual. Works to deescalate conflict by calmly escorting people off site.

LOCATION: Bronx, NY

SALARY: 18.00 Hourly

SUMMARY:

The Security/Attendance Officer controls the Single Point of Access (entry and exit) at each location through managing a sign in and out log out of youth participants, parents/guardians, staff, and vendors/partners. The Security/Attendance Officer ensures the safety of the program at all times including deescalating potential conflicts and calling emergency services (police department, fire department, etc.) when needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
