Job summary

KBR is seeking a Security Control Assessor Representative (SCAR) to join our team in California. The role provides cybersecurity support to TRMC and RDT&E communities, evaluating security controls to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions in coordination with the TRMC Cybersecurity team.

Responsibilities include conducting in-depth assessments, developing remediation plans, and overseeing independent audit processes for applications and networks.

Qualifications

• Experience with RMF and assessing DoD Security Controls.
• Experience with Cybersecurity in the RDT&E Community.
• Proven experience conducting security risk assessments for RMF authorizations.
• Familiarity with Vulnerability scanning tools.
• Knowledge of confidentiality, integrity, and availability principles.
• Knowledge of cloud service models (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS).
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, CS, IT or related field with data security experience.
• Strong project management, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Ability to interface with senior leadership.
• Travel 25% of time.
• Top Secret / SSBI clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth assessments of the management, operations, and technical security controls.
• Analyze information and prepare reports describing vulnerability levels with actionable details.
• Develop plans to address vulnerabilities and monitor security of networks/systems.
• Develop and oversee independent audit processes for software/networks/systems and ensure compliance.
• Develop security compliance processes for external services (e.g., cloud providers).
• Verify security postures are implemented as stated and document deviations.
• Perform validation steps comparing actual vs. expected results to identify risks.
• Maintain information systems assurance and accreditation materials.
• Provide A&A leadership and guidance for system authorization.
