Job summary

Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits is seeking a Security Associate to support security and loss prevention within the Distribution Center. You will help protect people and assets, investigate incidents, and coordinate with third-party security services throughout the shift.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, security camera experience, and basic Microsoft Office skills. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:45 AM to 2:15 PM, with physical demands and safety requirements

Responsibilities

• Loss prevention and shortage control programs support within the distribution center.
• Provide a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, drivers and sales reps.
• Protect company assets against theft, vandalism, fire, and unauthorized entry.
• Monitor product shortages and assist with tracking.
• Investigate reports of internal theft, violence or threats involving staff.
• Oversee and assist third-party security services.
• Conduct shrink compliance audits and drive improvement in shrink results.
• Coordinate with agencies as needed and facilitate investigations.

Southern Glazer’s offers a competitive compensation package with an hourly pay range of $20.00 - $30.00 / hour plus incentives. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 5:45 AM to 2:15 PM

• This role involves a combination of prolonged sitting, standing, and walking throughout the shift, including extended periods stationed in a security booth. A security uniform and safety toe shoes are required and must be worn at all times while working.

Overview

The Security Associate is responsible for assisting with security and loss prevention activities within the Distribution Center by supporting division objectives. Duties include, but not limited to, providing security services to managers and associates within the distribution center.

Primary Responsibilities

• Responsible for loss prevention and shortage control programs, taking an active role in identifying all forms of loss, motivating shortage control involvement, and helping to identify shortage control solutions
• Provide a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors including the facility, as well as drivers and sales representatives
• Provide security for the company warehouse, offices, and general assets against theft, vandalism, fire, and illegal entry
• Utilizing a variety of methods, the security associate monitors and assists with the tracking of product shortages
• Responsible for investigating reports of known or suspected internal theft, violence or the threat of violence or other criminal acts of an associate
• Provide oversight and assistance in the management of third-party security services
• Conducting company shrink compliance audits in the distribution center and facilitating improvement of shrink results
• Develop and maintain a rapport with the various agencies as needed, coordinated investigations with internal or outside agencies
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
• Physical demands include a considerable amount of time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
• Additional hours may be required during October, November, and December and other peak periods

• Must be able to frequently lift/lower, push, carry, or pull 48lbs
