Job description

This position serves as the Security Assistant for Police Service at the VA Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare System, primarily monitoring physical security equipment and systems.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/02/2025.

To meet the minimum qualifications, you must meet one of the following:

• Specialized Experience: One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level in the Federal service, involving use of computer and automation systems, data entry, report preparation, database management, maintaining confidentiality, and effective communication skills. Applicants must clearly indicate duties and hours per week.
• Education: Successfully completed four years of education above high school level in an accredited institution. Transcripts must be submitted; education cannot be credited without documentation.
• Combination: Possess a combination of post-high school education and experience, with education beyond 60 semester hours creditable toward experience. Transcripts are required if combining education and experience.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment: The work is primarily sedentary but may involve walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items. Off-tours, rotating shifts, or overtime may be required. The environment involves typical office safety precautions, with adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated areas.
