Job summary

Global Payments is seeking a Security Architect Specialist to join our Cyber Innovations and Emerging Technologies team in a hybrid Atlanta, GA role. You will help shape the future of global commerce by researching and recommending security technologies and AI capabilities.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in cybersecurity or security architecture, plus experience with cloud-based solutions and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in cybersecurity or security architecture.
• Experience supporting AI/generative AI, predictive analytics, or cybersecurity innovation.
• Experience designing cloud-based solutions and automation using Perl/Ansible.
• Proven ability to lead proofs of concept, product evaluations, or pilot programs.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate emerging security tech and AI capabilities to support cyber strategy.
• Lead proofs of concept, pilots, and evaluations moving solutions to deployment.
• Design scalable, secure architectures for AI, analytics, automation, and other initiatives.
• Partner with cybersecurity, cloud, data, and business teams to identify use cases and roadmaps.
• Provide technical leadership for cross-functional initiatives, vendor evaluations, and exec-ready presentations.

Whatyou’ll own

Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging security technologies and AI capabilities that support Global Payments’ cyber strategy and risk reduction objectives .

Lead proofs of concept, pilot programs, and technical evaluations, moving innovative solutions from concept through validation and transition planning.

Design scalable, secure architectures for AI, predictive analytics, automation, and other emerging technology initiatives.

Partner with cybersecurity, cloud, data, and business teams to identify high-value cyber use cases and develop practical adoption roadmaps.

Provide technical leadership for cross-functional innovation initiatives, including vendor evaluations, solution recommendations, and executive-ready presentations.

What you’ll bring

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, security architecture, or emerging technology.

Demonstrated experience supporting or leading AI, generative AI, predictive analytics, or cybersecurity innovation initiatives.

Experience designing or evaluating cloud-based solutions, and applying scripting or automation using Perl, Ansible, or similar technologies.

Proven ability to lead technical proofs of concept, product evaluations, or pilot programs and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

Strong project leadership, analytical, and stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and business decisions in a matrixed environment.

It’s a bonus if you have

Experience with quantum computing, quantum-safe cryptography, or other emerging technologies relevant to cybersecurity.

A track record of independently exploring new technologies , developing innovative prototypes, and turning research into practical business or security outcomes.

Strong curiosity, client focus, and collaborative leadership, with the accountability and determination to influence stakeholders, challenge conventional approaches, and deliver results as one team.
