Job summary

Global Payments Inc. is seeking a Security Architect Specialist to join the Cyber Innovations and Emerging Technologies team for a hybrid role involving Atlanta and Cincinnati offices.

You will design secure architectures for AI, lead proofs of concept and pilot programs, and collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud, data, and business teams to reduce risk and enable innovative capabilities shaping global commerce.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, security architecture, or emerging technology.
• Experience leading AI, generative AI, predictive analytics, or cybersecurity innovation initiatives.
• Experience designing or evaluating cloud-based solutions, and applying scripting or automation using Perl, Ansible, or similar technologies.
• Proven ability to lead technical proofs of concept, product evaluations, or pilot programs and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Strong project leadership, analytical, and stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and business decisions in a matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Own

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, security architecture, or emerging technology.
• Demonstrated experience supporting or leading AI, generative AI, predictive analytics, or cybersecurity innovation initiatives.
• Experience designing or evaluating cloud-based solutions, and applying scripting or automation using Perl, Ansible, or similar technologies.
• Proven ability to lead technical proofs of concept, product evaluations, or pilot programs and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Strong project leadership, analytical, and stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and business decisions in a matrixed environment.

It’s a bonus if you have

• Experience with quantum computing, quantum-safe cryptography, or other emerging technologies relevant to cybersecurity.
• A track record of independently exploring new technologies, developing innovative prototypes, and turning research into practical business or security outcomes.
• Strong curiosity, client focus, and collaborative leadership, with the accountability and determination to influence stakeholders, challenge conventional approaches, and deliver results as one team.
