Job summary

Leidos seeks a Data Scientist in McLean, VA to join a fast-paced data science team supporting Security-focused projects within the ASBA. You will build ML models, perform NLP, and create automated data solutions across diverse datasets.

Responsibilities include querying databases via SQL/APIs, web scraping, and applying ML to predict scenarios. Proficiency in Python, SNA, and visualization tools is required; AWS and Git experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
• BS degree and 8–12 years relevant technical experience or Master’s with 6–10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Python is required.
• Social network analysis (SNA) experience.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases and APIs for data extraction.
• Experience with supervised and unsupervised learning and natural processing (NLP). Familiarity with NLP libraries/tools (spaCy, HuggingFace, NLTK, TensorFlow).
• Experience with statistics, probability, and predictive modeling; knowledge of data architecture and statistical methods.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau, Plotly, Seaborn, Matplotlib).

Responsibilities

• Build statistical and machine learning models, conduct NLP, and develop automated solutions for complex business challenges.
• Construct and execute complex database search queries across multiple databases using SQL and API interfaces.
• Perform web scraping and apply techniques for processing unstructured data.
• Leverage automation and machine learning to manage data, predict scenarios, and make data-driven recommendations.
• Learn and leverage technologies including AWS and Git.
