Job summary

Success Academy Charter Schools in New York City is seeking a Security Analyst to join our Information Security & Privacy team. The role is hands-on across security operations, endpoint protection, cloud security, data loss prevention, and privacy, collaborating with the Technology Operations team to drive security changes.

The position reports to the head of Security & Privacy within the Technology department.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional information security experience in technology-driven organizations.
• Hands-on experience with security incident response workflows using a SIEM.
• Experience with CrowdStrike Falcon or similar endpoint security platforms.
• Expertise in Google Workspace security administration (Gmail rules, DLP, monitoring).
• Expertise with advanced email security platforms (Mimecast, Proofpoint, Abnormal, etc.).
• Experience with identity access management platforms (Okta).
• Knowledge of AWS and GCP infrastructure security controls, IAM, and monitoring, plus Wiz.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and privacy regulations (SOC 2, ISO 27001, FERPA).
• Ability to work hybrid onsite at Manhattan headquarters (10005) Tue-Thu

Responsibilities

• Incident Response: use SIEM to identify vulnerabilities, investigate alerts, and lead remediation.
• Email Security: support efforts to build email compliance and DLP rules.
• Security Operations: partner with IT, engineering, and business to embed security in workflows.
• Program Building: lead scalable security processes across IR, access management, vulnerability management, DLP.
• Cloud Security: support security for AWS and GCP environments with cloud engineering teams.
• Security Tooling: stay ahead of threats and vet new tools as appropriate.
