Job summary

New York Life is seeking a capable SOC Analyst with cloud security and incident response experience to join our Cyber Security Operations team. You will monitor alerts, investigate incidents across hybrid and cloud environments, and guide containment and recovery.

The role requires 3–4 years in security operations, hands-on cloud platform work (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and strong SIEM/EDR/XDR skills, plus experience logging and threat hunting. Certifications such as GCIH or Security+ are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, CS, IT or equivalent.
• 3–4 years in Security Operations, Incident Response, or Cyber Defense.
• Hands-on with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts using SIEM, EDR, XDR and cloud-native tools.
• Investigate, triage, and respond to incidents across cloud and on-premises.
• Develop incident response playbooks and SOPs.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and executive summaries.
• Conduct threat hunting and post-incident reviews.
• Stay current with cloud security best practices.
