Hiring: Security Analyst II

Client: State of Wisconsin – Department of Financial Institutions (DFI)

Position: Security Analyst II

Contract Duration: Through June 30, 2027, with potential for at least a 1-year extension

Work Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (potential for remote work up to 3 days per week after the trial period)

Primary Skills / Must-Have Requirements

• IT Security Experience: 4–7 years


• CrowdStrike Administration: 4–7 years; expert-level knowledge required


• Tenable Administration: 4–7 years; expert-level knowledge required


• Strong Attention to Detail


• Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills

Important: Candidates must have hands-on experience administering both CrowdStrike and Tenable. Candidates submitted to the previous Posting #165213 will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and manage CrowdStrike, Tenable, and Zscaler security platforms.


• Conduct IT security risk assessments and implement remediation strategies.


• Monitor vulnerability dashboards, endpoint security, asset inventories, and installed agents.


• Manage security incidents and support incident response activities.


• Monitor endpoint firewall operations and adjust configurations as required.


• Research security solutions, evaluate vendors, and conduct proof-of-concept testing.


• Collaborate with technical teams to implement security technologies and resolve vulnerabilities.


• Develop and maintain IT security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.


• Monitor data inventories, policy violations, and compliance metrics.


• Lead security projects and support the implementation of new security controls.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• CISSP certification or equivalent security certification/qualification.


• Approximately 1 year of relevant certification‑related experience, as specified in the requirement.

Location Requirements

• Candidates must currently reside in Wisconsin.


• Candidates local to the Madison area are strongly preferred.


• Relocation is not permitted.


• Candidates must be prepared to work onsite initially, with potential hybrid flexibility after the trial period.


• Parking costs are the candidate's responsibility unless a reimbursement arrangement is agreed upon with the supplier.
