Job Overview
The primary purpose of the Security Analyst position is to evaluate security events identified by CEFCU’s network and security monitoring systems, identify system vulnerabilities, and investigate member and employee‑reported security issues to protect CEFCU data and systems from unauthorized internal and external access. The role also involves providing a high quality member experience for both internal and external members.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate security events identified by network and security monitoring systems.
- Identify system vulnerabilities and investigate security incidents reported by members and employees.
- Protect CEFCU data and systems from unauthorized internal and external access.
- Analyze and respond to security incidents using SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection tools.
- Conduct vulnerability scans and manage patching, CVE, and vulnerability review.
- Perform event log analysis and maintain security configurations in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Assist with compliance, regulatory reporting, and security framework requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an I.T. related field or equivalent work experience.
- 2‑4 years’ experience as a Security Operations Analyst or equivalent.
- Information Security certification (CEH or CISSP) or at least two years of Network Engineer experience.
- Strong knowledge of security principles, risk management, and threat detection techniques.
- Hands‑on experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
- Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, VPN).
- Experience with a vulnerability scanning tool and knowledge of virus definitions and malware families.
- Experience with patching, updates, and CVE/vulnerability review.
- Experience in a Microsoft Windows environment, including security configurations, event log analysis, and Active Directory security.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with compliance, financial industry regulations, and security frameworks.
- Programming and scripting experience related to cyber forensic investigations.
- Penetration testing experience.
- Forensic investigation experience.
Compensation
Pay Range: $38.80 – $45.59 per hour (anticipated starting range; final compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications).
