Responsibilities

• The Commercial Sales Executive promotes and sells Johnson Controls Security services and technology within an assigned territory, using relationships to close new business and ensure customer retention.
• Serve as the Johnson Controls Security brand steward, communicating the Johnson Controls Security story and demonstrating leadership as the leading electronic security provider.
• Secure profitable sales and upgrades to new, existing, and discontinued Johnson Controls Security Commercial customers; improve customer satisfaction and retention through post-install follow-ups.
• Develop comprehensive product and services knowledge across the full offering and align with customer needs.
• Adhere to Johnson Controls Security policies, procedures, products, programs, and services.
• Create and execute strategies to grow market share by selling to new local commercial customers and expanding for existing accounts.
• Sell add-ons, amend, and convert existing customer systems to meet customer expectations; renew existing customer agreements.
• Identify prospects through creative lead generation and maintain productive relationships with existing customers.
• Independently establish call plans and follow-up strategies, apply time and territory management, and conduct follow-up with prospects.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of the complete product/service line and customer issues through training and research; obtain referrals working with Centers of Influence.
• Process work orders and complete all paperwork per approved procedures; conduct post-installation follow-ups to confirm commitments and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Required: High school degree or equivalent; excellent oral, written, and presentation skills with the ability to present to senior-level executives; able to work a full-time schedule; local travel availability.
• Preferred: College degree; minimum of 2 years’ experience as a successful commercial sales representative in security, IT, or other technology sales with a proven quota performance.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $50,000–$70,000 (salary determined by education, experience, and market data). Competitive Sales Incentive Plan; comprehensive benefits package; and posted salary reflects target compensation. Exceptional candidates may warrant consideration beyond the range.
