Job summary

Publix Super Markets is seeking a security professional to enforce access control, monitor facilities, and respond to incidents. You will manage deliveries, observe activities, and maintain precise security records while coordinating with supervisors and facility management.

The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work any shift, and the capacity to operate with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Onsite security at Publix facilities is essential.

Qualifications

• At least 20 years of age.
• Have a valid drivers license.
• Possess a Class D Security Officer's License or obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Able to withstand walking and standing for long periods.
• Able to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to perform mathematical computations.
• Excellent telephone communication skills.
• Able to use a two-way radio.
• Intermediate knowledge of the TDPS system.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
• Able to adapt to differing circumstances and ambiguous situations.
• Capable of working without close supervision.
• Ability to plan, coordinate, schedule staff, and manage resources on time and within budget.
• Remain productive under stress and time pressure.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with associates, managers, customers, and vendors.
• Attention to detail in documents or data.
• Able to create a positive, professional service orientation for internal customers.
• Able to use active listening to understand information.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining control of access to Publix facilities by associates, guests, and other personnel.
• Providing access control, routing, and shipping/receiving for deliveries.
• Conducting personal observations and reporting incidents or deficiencies.
• Maintaining security records and documentation.
• Communicating information to security supervisors, associates, or management.
