Job summary

Aston Group seeks a vigilant Safety and Security role under the Director of Safety and Security to protect residents, patients, visitors, and employees by following established procedures and enforcing badge access. You will monitor alarms and maintain professional standards.

Responsibilities include responding to emergencies, conducting bag checks, operating wander guard, logging activities, and reporting hazards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Current valid Driver's License required.
  • Good interpersonal/communication skills required.
  • Military, criminal justice or law enforcement experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of security equipment such as cameras, monitors, radios, and computers.
  • Ability to read instructions and apply those instructions to tasks.
  • Ability to hear alarms, patient calls, and instructions from supervisors and staff.
  • CPR certification required/maintain certification.

  • Responds to emergencies as needed (e.g., fire, disasters).
  • Performs regular package/briefcase checks on all employees.
  • Performs access control duties for facility, understands and operates wander guard system.
  • Notifies Departments of emergent situations and provides direction.
  • Prepares and maintains various logs and reports.
  • Recognizes, monitors, and reports conditions which may be safe, unsafe, or insecure.
  • Monitors the closed-circuit television system and responds to security alarm conditions.
  • Must always be in proper uniform and present a professional image.
  • Reports unsafe/hazardous conditions observed to the Supervisor.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to and ability to work with the age of the population served.
  • Assist in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) process.
