Make timely written and oral reports, conduct patrol, monitor surveillance, operate video management and surveillance systems, respond to calls for service, respond to medical and other emergences and other duties as assigned.
Job Duties
- Maintains security at the gated access points of WPR
- Opens/closes gates according to established operating hours
- Deals professionally and communicates appropriately with contractors, construction personnel, visitors, job site supervisors, WPR staff, WPR members and their guests, and those conducting business with WPR and the public
- Provides professional service to WPR members and their guests
- Maintains strict access control of the gates, only allowing access to authorized persons
- Ensures all delivery and earth moving equipment pass through security check point efficiently and expeditiously
- Maintains traffic control
- Enforces safe driving policies on WPR property
- Observes all persons entering and leaving WPR property and remains alert for suspicious circumstances
- Provides direction as appropriate to visitors and/or the public
- Monitors security camera and video management system
- Ensures visitor management and waiver protocols are followed
- Responds to emergency situations contacting chain of command and/or emergency services
- Familiarity with emergency 911 notification procedures
- Administers CPR and First Aid, if necessary
- Notes any deficiencies in security measures
- Maintains accurate log of activities and documents incidents, suspicious activity and policy violations
- Conducts patrol activities on foot or in a WPR security vehicle
- Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Security Management Tea
Qualifications
Classification:
Full-Time or Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
- Previous experience as a first responder desirable.
Licenses And Special Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- 21 years of age or older
- Certification in basic CPR, AED, and First Aid
Physical Demands And Work Environment
- Frequent exposure to hot, sunny, cold, snowy or rainy conditions.
- Working conditions are often slippery and wet.
- A mix of daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather conditions should be expected.
- Work independently or alone
- Constant physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of eight hours per day.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, crouch and walk or jog as required to perform key duties.
- Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds personally, and up to 150 pounds with assistance.
- Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
- Possess good decision-making skills for the security situation (to decide autonomously whether the circumstances present threat or no-threat, for example).
- Be able to take command and manage people and events if required in an emergency.
- Work well under pressure or stressful situation (with a clear head and calm approach).
