Sacramento Native American Health Center, Inc. is seeking a Security Guard / Transportation Driver to maintain safety on-site and transport clients to appointments and activities. The role combines security duties with accountable, timely transport in a compassionate environment.
The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and CPR/First Aid certification. Prior security or transportation experience is preferred, with HIPAA awareness and trauma-informed
The Security Guard / Transportation Driver is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and transportation needs of clients, staff, and the facility. This dual-role position provides a professional presence on-site to help maintain a safe and structured environment, while also transporting clients to and from appointments, intakes, discharges, meetings, and facility-approved activities in a safe and timely manner.
Monitor facility grounds and interior to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Conduct routine walkthroughs of the facility, checking for safety hazards or suspicious behavior.
Ensure all doors, windows, and entrances are secured and locked when required.
Intervene in crises or escalating situations using de-escalation techniques and notify management of serious incidents.
Document all security-related incidents and maintain daily activity logs.
Support staff during client admissions, discharges, and facility emergencies.
Monitor visitor check-in/out and enforce facility rules in accordance with policies.
Safely transport clients to and from appointments, court, meetings, other facilities, and facility-sponsored activities.
Ensure all passengers wear seat belts and follow safety rules.
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
Maintain cleanliness of facility vehicles and refuel as needed.
Accurately complete transportation logs and client transport documentation.
Adhere to all traffic laws, facility policies, and client confidentiality requirements.
Assist clients in and out of vehicles as needed, ensuring safety and dignity.
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skills
Provide excellent customer service to clients, vendors, suppliers, and staff
Perform other duties as assigned
This position will not have any supervisory responsibilities

High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.
Minimum 1 year of experience in security, transportation, or a related role.
CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Knowledge of boundaries, confidentiality (HIPAA), and AOD program safety practices.
Preferred experience working in an AOD, behavioral health, or residential care facility
Preferred familiarity with de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches
