Job summary

Discovery Senior Living in Hockessin, DE is looking for a Part-Time Security Officer to conduct safety inspections and patrol the community property. Responsibilities include examining security measures, reporting irregularities, and responding to security calls.

Position Highlights

• Status: Part-Time
• Schedule: 4pm-12am every other weekend
• Location: 5850 Limestone Road, Hockessin, DE 19707
• Rate of Pay: Starting at $17.00

What You’ll Do

• Conduct safety and security inspections of all community property including common areas, resident corridors, parking areas, and perimeter access of a large community campus.
• Examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
• Patrol community property to prevent and discover activity in violation of criminal, fire, or safety codes.
• Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes and security doors left unsecured.
• Investigate and report all acts of unlawful or safety hazards that would endanger persons or property.
• Investigate all incidents and suspicious occurrences, filing incident reports appropriately.
• Respond to all security calls and complaints, taking necessary action and handling on-scene emergency situations until relieved by a Supervisor.
• Secure and unlock areas and buildings in accordance with policy and community expectations.
• Assist in emergency response procedures as per community policy.
• Ensure outside furniture or fixtures are secure in the event of inclement weather.
• May be required to drive the community vehicle if necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
