Job summary

HeartLands Senior Living Village at Ellicott City is seeking dedicated Security team members to ensure the safety of our community. As part of the role, you will conduct safety inspections, patrol facilities, and respond to security calls. Qualified candidates will need a High School diploma and preferably one year of job-related experience. This position offers flexible scheduling, competitive wages, and comprehensive benefits for full-time employees, including health insurance and paid time off.

• Applicable state Security Officer License preferred but not required.

As a Security team member, you’ll play an essential role in enriching the lives of seniors, creating meaningful connections, and making a difference every single day.

Your Role

As a member of the Security team, you will be responsible for promoting and guarding the community property and assets against fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry by unauthorized persons while meeting and/or exceeding service standards.

Position Highlights

• Status: FULL TIME / PART TIME
• Schedule: Night Shift 11pm -7:30am, INCLUDING WEEKENDS
• Location: Heartlands Senior Living at Ellicott City

What You’ll Do

• Conduct safety and security inspections of all community property to include common areas, resident corridors, parking areas and perimeter access of a large community campus.
• Examine doors, windows and gates to ensure that they are secure.
• Patrol community property to prevent and discover activity in violation of criminal, fire or safety codes.
• Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes and security doors left unsecured.
• Investigate and report all acts of unlawful or safety hazards that would endanger persons or property.
• Investigate all incidents and suspicious occurrences, filing incident report appropriately.
• Respond to all security calls and complaints, taking necessary action and handling on-scene emergency situations until relieved by a Supervisor.
• Secure and unlock areas and buildings in accordance with policy and community expectation.
• Assist in emergency response procedures as per community policy.
• Ensure outside furniture or fixtures are secure in the event of inclement weather.
• May be required to drive the community vehicle if necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
