Job summary

Vets Hired in Albuquerque seeks a Secure Communication Technician to install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot secure voice and data networks.

This role focuses on COMSEC operations, telecom systems, networking, secure equipment like SKLs, TACLANE encryptors, and rigorous documentation.

You will work with customers and team members, follow DoD and industry standards, and may provide after-hours support. A valid driver's license is required and physical work is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience as a CRO and/or SVRO.
• Familiar with telecommunications systems and networking.
• Proficient in customer service.
• Experience installing and maintaining telephone and data networks.
• Knowledge of secure equipment such as SKLs, TACLANE encryptors, STEs, KIV-7M/KOV encryptors, KY-100 encryptors.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain secure voice and data networks.
• Manage COMSEC materials, including ordering, pickup, storage, inventory, re-keying, and destruction.
• Maintain accurate records for COMSEC materials and managed communication devices.
• Process and complete customer work orders.
• Coordinate with customers to ensure communication services are installed and operational.
• Schedule installations, upgrades, re-keys, and troubleshooting activities.
• Troubleshoot and deploy ground-level and orbital communication networks and devices.
• Support specialized programs used to collect network and system data.
• Review project plans and coordinate project activities.
• Work with customers, managers, vendors, and other technical personnel.
• Maintain required documentation, forms, and inventories.
• Follow DoD, telecommunications, safety, and industry standards.
• May provide after-hours emergency support.
