Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a System Administrator to support a U.S. Navy program in San Diego, CA. The role focuses on maintaining Windows and RHEL servers for a DoD-related network, with a Secret clearance and 100% onsite work.

The position requires IAT II certifications and strong scripting in PowerShell and Bash. Responsibilities include hardening systems per STIGs, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and collaboration across engineering and cybersecurity teams.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of RHEL/Windows administration experience.
• IAT II certifications (one of: CySA+, Security+, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP).
• Scripting experience: PowerShell, Bash.
• Experience with IAVM process (STIGs and patches).

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Windows 11 and RHEL systems in a secure enterprise environment.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain system availability.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell and Bash scripts to automate tasks.
• Harden Windows and Linux systems in compliance with DISA STIGs, IAVMs, CTOs, and security policies.
• Perform vulnerability remediation, patch management, and compliance validation.
• Support endpoint security through security tools and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams for secure configurations.
