Job summary

Socket.dev seeks a senior cloud architect to lead the technical architecture and platform-enablement work for a secure, scalable AWS-hosted AI assistant that integrates with the War Data Platform/Databricks and enterprise knowledge sources. The role guides production architecture across cloud, data, and AI domains, defining nonfunctional requirements, security and governance, and deployment patterns.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of experience designing and delivering cloud, data, AI, or MLOps platforms with production architecture responsibility.
• Experience architecting AI/ML applications on AWS using Bedrock and/or SageMaker, API Gateway, ALB, ECS or EKS, ECR, S3, IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
• Experience designing containerized architectures with Docker and AWS container services, including scalability, availability, networking, security, and operational support.
• Experience integrating external applications with Databricks via REST APIs (Genie, SQL, Warehouses) or comparable APIs.
• Knowledge of Databricks identity & governance (OAuth, service principals, Unity Catalog, row-level security, column masking, audit logging).
• Ability to design secure authentication/authorization flows (CAC/enterprise SSO, OIDC/OAuth, identity federation, on-behalf-of-user access).
• Experience defining infra & platform dependencies across environments (PrivateLink, DNS, certificates, firewall rules, IAM roles, approvals).
• Experience designing RAG architectures connecting to SharePoint and enterprise repos using AWS/Databricks vector-search capabilities.
• Ability to define target-state architecture, deployment patterns, requirements, roadmaps, security controls, and platform-enablement requests for AWS & Databricks.
• Experience working with platform, cybersecurity, cloud, networking, data governance, and application-development stakeholders to move architecture to production.
