New Directions Technologies Inc. in Ridgecrest, CA is seeking an IT professional to install, troubleshoot, and repair DoD computing equipment and lab workstations, including networked and stand-alone systems.

You will administer patching, backups, and security for Windows 10/11, with some Windows Server and Linux exposure. The role requires US citizenship, a BS with 3 years experience, and the ability to obtain a security clearance and COMSEC certification.

Qualifications

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
BS in a related field and 3 years of related experience are required. However, a combination of education and experience may also be considered for this position.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Obtain and maintain a COMSEC briefing and certification.
Experience with Microsoft operating systems (Windows 7/10/11) and Windows Server 2012/2016/etc.
Ability to stand and be mobile for long durations, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
Willingness to work morning, evening, and/or overnight shifts as needed.
Active certifications such as CompTIA Security+ are valued.

Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot and repair DoD computing equipment and workstations (networked and stand-alone).
Maintain and administer closed-loop networks for patching and hardening lab systems.
Maintain and administer Virtual Machines running file servers and services.
Provide front-facing user support for computer or application issues.
Perform routine backups across multiple platforms.
Support users remotely and on-site for network/desktop problems.
Assist Lab personnel with IT problem diagnosis and solutions.
Manage lab networks and develop software/database applications.
Install software, enforce security procedures, monitor backups and network performance.
Recommend improvements for Lab Systems Administration processes.
Proactively implement IT projects in the Lab environment.
Provide vulnerability patching and remediation.
Support Enterprise Services with site network repairs or upgrades.
Assist with testing and maintenance of Secure Defense Research & Engineering Network platform.
Support lab schedules across shifts.
