Job summary

The role bridges on‑premises data centers with Azure and AWS, focusing on reusable services, automation, reliability, and security. Responsibilities include building IaC and automation with Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, or Python; creating landing zones; integrating with identity, PKI and SIEM;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure and AWS preferred).
• Experience with virtualization, enterprise storage, networking, Linux and Windows administration, containers, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, automation, CI/CD, source control, and configuration management.
• Understanding of cloud security, Zero Trust principles, identity and access management, encryption, logging, vulnerability management, and compliance controls.
• Strong troubleshooting and systems-integration skills.
• Must reside within a 75-mile radius of Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville AL or be willing to relocate.
• Must have (or be able to have before starting): CompTIA Security+ CE or other approved 8570 IAT Level II certification; Cloud certifications such as Azure/AWS.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and operate hybrid-cloud platforms spanning on-premises data centers and cloud environments.
• Design and implement platform services for compute, storage, networking, identity, containerization, observability, backup, DR, and config management.
• Build infrastructure-as-code and configuration automation using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, or equivalent tools.
• Develop standardized landing-zone and platform patterns for consistent deployment.
• Integrate cloud platforms with enterprise identity, PKI, DNS, logging, SIEM, vulnerability management, and security services.
• Support containerized and Kubernetes-based workloads, including cluster config and lifecycle management.
• Implement secure DevSecOps pipelines and automated testing, compliance validation, and patching.
• Troubleshoot cross-domain infrastructure issues; collaborate with cybersecurity and mission teams.
• Produce documentation and runbooks; create architecture diagrams and baselines.
• Create and monitor Azure storage solutions and DR procedures.
