Job summary

HP, Inc. seeks a System Embedded Software Engineer — Security to design, develop, and validate secure firmware and drivers for HP commercial PC platforms. You will embed security into the firmware lifecycle, covering secure boot, cryptographic services, onboarding, and update protection.

You will work with hardware, BIOS, OS, and cybersecurity teams, perform design reviews, document architectures, and lead remediation of vulnerabilities across the firmware stack.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in a related discipline.
• 10+ years experience in embedded software, firmware, driver development, or product security.
• Hands-on experience delivering secure firmware or embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Leads the design and development of secure embedded software, firmware, and driver components for commercial PC platforms.
• Defines security requirements for firmware features, system interfaces, update mechanisms, device identity, and onboarding flows.
• Performs threat modeling, risk assessment, and secure design reviews across embedded software and firmware architectures.
• Implements and validates security capabilities such as secure boot, measured boot, cryptographic protocols, key management, and update protection.
• Collaborates with hardware, BIOS, OS, firmware, and cybersecurity teams to ensure end-to-end protection.
