Job summary

State Street is seeking a Secure Configuration Systems Engineer to join the Cyber Architecture & Engineering team. You will design, implement, and support architecture-driven configuration management and system hardening across multiple environments.

The role emphasizes automation with Ansible, Chef Inspec, shell scripting, and DevSecOps practices, plus conducting NIST-based risk assessments and ensuring secure baseline configurations for ITAM assets.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with Agile Development, DevOps, System Hardening, DevSecOps, Cybersecurity.
Excellent verbal and written communication across internal and external organizations.
Ability to prioritize and manage several projects or priorities simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with all levels of personnel.

Responsibilities

Ensure Security Configuration best practices are implemented and adhered to.
Establish Secure Baseline configurations for all ITAM assets.
Develop custom solutions using Ansible, Chef Inspec, shell scripting for configuration controls.
Conduct risk assessments based on the NIST framework for critical assets.
Develop security guidelines, policies and procedures pertaining to the Secure Configuration framework.
Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to design, implement, and support secure configurations across environments.
Deliver tasks based on project objectives and support projects through to completion.
Ensure deliverables are completed within target timeframes and are consistently of high quality.
