Job summary

The NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities is offering a Developmental Disabilities Secure Care Treatment Aide Trainee position in New York. The traineeship lasts 9 to 15 months based on competency, after which you advance to Developmental Disabilities Secure Care Treatment Aide, Salary Grade 14.

You will assist in habilitation and care of individuals with developmental disabilities in a secure unit, contribute to a safe environment, and help implement their habilitation plan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or DSP Certificate required.
• Completion of DDSCTA traineeship or 1 year direct-care experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license in New York State required.
• Meet physical and agility standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in habilitation and care of individuals with developmental disabilities in a secure unit.
• Provide a safe and secure environment and help implement habilitation plans.
