Job summary

Qualifications

• Promotion path from Developmental Assistant Trainee to Developmental Assistant 1 based on traineeship.
• Open Competitive: HS diploma and 1 year of experience in care and habilitation.
• One-year service as Direct Support Assistant or related title, with traineeship completion.

Responsibilities

• Must become a trainer for CPR/First Aid or Promote.
• Work closely with DA II and DA III.
• Supervise DSA’s; Head of Shift duties.
• Some scheduling of regular shifts, medical appointments and call-ins.
• Implement and follow residential habilitation, protective oversight and behavior plans.
• Participate, plan, and oversee community inclusion opportunities.
• Manage personal funds and ensure compliance with agency policies (CITRIX).
• Interact with families; provide guidance regarding loved ones.
• Oversee fire plans, drills and evacuation procedures.
• Communicate with supervisor, IRA staff and clinicians daily.
• Act as a role model and participate in direct service delivery for total care individuals.
• Attend Lifeplan and planning meetings; plan house staff meetings when indicated.
