Job summary

Nextonic Solutions LLC in Washington is seeking an AWS Solutions Architect – Security & DevOps to design, implement, secure, and optimize enterprise cloud solutions across the SDLC with emphasis on security, automation, and compliance.

The role requires strong AWS architecture skills, expertise with CI/CD, IaC, and federal standards such as NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP, plus certifications. You will mentor teams and lead architecture decisions.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in cloud architecture, cloud engineering, or related IT roles.
• Demonstrated experience designing secure cloud architectures for enterprise or regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of AWS networking, IAM, compute, storage, databases, monitoring, security, and governance services.
• Practical experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and version control.
• Experience implementing cloud security controls and supporting compliance assessments or audit activities.
• Working knowledge of NIST security standards, FISMA, FedRAMP, and federal information security practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and secure scalable AWS cloud architectures supporting enterprise applications and workloads.
• Develop cloud infrastructure solutions using EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, RDS, EKS, CloudFront, Route 53, and AWS Organizations.
• Establish landing zones, multi-account governance, and disaster recovery aligned with mission requirements.
• Integrate security controls and automated compliance checks into provisioning and deployment pipelines.
• Mentor cloud engineers and DevOps practitioners and promote architecture standards across teams.
• Collaborate with ISSOs/ISSMs and security teams to maintain security documentation and evidence.
