Job summary

Credence is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to support secure AWS hosting environments for DoD customers. This hands-on role covers AWS infrastructure, IaC, CI/CD, containers, automation, and security.

You’ll work with Cloud Engineers, SAs, cybersecurity, and customer teams to design and implement solutions. The ideal candidate has extensive AWS experience, Terraform/CFN, CI/CD, and container platforms, plus scripting in Python or Shell.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• CompTIA Security+ and AWS certifications or ability to obtain within stated windows.
• 3+ years in cloud engineering, DevOps, or related field.
• Hands-on with AWS services: EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Production experience with Docker and container platforms (ECS/EKS).
• Automation scripting in Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
• Strong communication and ability to design technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, operate, and improve secure AWS hosting solutions.
• Collaborate with Cloud Engineers, Solutions Architects, cybersecurity and customers.
• Translate requirements into practical cloud infrastructure and hosting solutions.
• Build and improve Infrastructure as Code patterns (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, tests, security scans, and deployments.
• Deploy, operate, and troubleshoot container workloads (Docker, ECS/Fargate, EKS/Kubernetes).
• Create automation scripts to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
• Support AWS-hosted environments, incident response, and production support.
• Work with compliance teams to meet federal requirements and research new tooling.
