Job summary

GCyber is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to design, build, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure for a government customer. You will implement CI/CD pipelines and IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible, supporting AWS services like EC2, S3, Lambda, and more.

The role emphasizes automation, security hardening, and operational readiness, with heavy involvement in incident response, patching, and compliance across classified and unclassified environments.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Poly
• BA/BS in Information Technology or related field
• IAT II certification (Security+, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP)
• Experience with Ansible
• Experience creating Lambda functions in Python
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation
• Virtualization experience configuring EC2 instances
• Experience with PowerShell
• Prior DISA experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, GitLab, Docker, and AWS services.
• Configure and provision AWS infrastructure with IaC; develop CloudFormation templates and automate deployments.
• Develop automation using Python and Bash/PowerShell to streamline cloud operations.
• Perform cloud operations including monitoring, incident response, patching, vulnerability remediation, and security hardening across environments.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and support Agile development, CI/CD, and release management activities.
