HNTB Corporation seeks a leader to guide a transportation planning discipline within the Central States Office. This role manages priorities, staffing, and mentoring to ensure delivery of high-quality transportation projects from feasibility through construction.
The ideal candidate will manage a 6-8 person team, coordinate with other sections, and drive staff development and resource planning to improve overall team performance.
This opportunity entails being responsible for leading a professional discipline section in the development and delivery of projects. This position coordinates project priorities, staffing schedules, and staff assignments to ensure clients are provided the proper resources at the appropriate time. Responsible for coaching and mentoring and efficient, productive utilization of staff in providing high-quality service.
The ideal candidate will be located in one of our Central States Office (locations in Kansas City, MO; Des Moines, IA; St Louis, MO; and Oklahoma City, OK) and will be responsible for managing and developing a group of 6-8 transportation planners and engineers, providing technical expertise and coordinating the delivery of transportation projects. We are looking for a planner that is experienced and knowledgeable in transportation planning or the NEPA process, providing support from the feasibility/conceptual stage through design and construction. Candidates should be able to share their experience with others in a way that promotes the development of less experienced staff and improves the performance of the whole team.
Responsible for the development, monitoring, and management of the section's operating budget in support of the group or office operating budget and forecast updates.
Responsible for the management, growth, and professional development of discipline-specific planning section. Coordinates section activities, establishes priorities, and staff to jobs. Ensures staff development, mentoring, and training needs are being met. Collaborates with other Sections and Departments within the office on work-sharing
