Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Section Coordinator for a hospital-based laboratory network in Port Charlotte, FL. You will lead testing operations, mentor staff, and ensure compliance across CAP standards in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The role requires an MT with Florida supervisory licensure, a science degree, and 3+ years of experience. This is a night-shift, full-time position within a large hospital-based network emphasizing patient-focused care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in science required; bachelor’s degree in medical technology preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology is required.
• State of Florida Technologist Supervisory License is required.
• ASCP certification or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and rapid-response procedures per established protocols.
• Analyze patient specimens and ensure accurate, timely reporting of results.
• Execute and document quality control activities to maintain standards.
• Prioritize, perform, or delegate testing based on workload and staff.
• Support daily laboratory operations and communicate updates to leadership.
• Assist with staff training, onboarding and competency assessments.
• Promote compliance with CAP requirements and regulatory standards.
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor for laboratory personnel.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Foster positive working relationships and a collaborative team environment.
